Royal Pleco

I picked up one of those royal plecos from golds a while ago and although small I can't beleive how they tear through driftwood. I can't imagine what they are like when older as I have never owned a pleco that ate wood to the point I could notice it, but there are wood chunks all over my tank from this little guy.

Any others withe similar experience?

All of the panaque plecos are like termites when it comes to wood. I had a clown pleco that was amazing that way. I found it to be quite annoying and eventually traded it in. Royals are quite beautiful though when fully grown. Riverfront has a few larger ones in stock.

I know what you mean, even a tank full of young bristlenose is insane, lift up a log and it's like a bag of peat was released into the tank with them. I have owned other plecos that seemed to never bother driftwood at all.
