Samgoody
Any one here tried Flourite before? What is the best way to clean this stuff before putting them in the tank?
Madness
I dont believe you are supposed to clean it before putting it in, Best way to put it in is an empty tank... lay the fluorite down first, then a layer of other gravel on top of it. Put something like a dinner plate or piece of rock on top of the substrate when filling so the water is not directly stirring it up and it wont be quite so cloudy... cloudiness should go away within a couple days Could be wrong, but thats my experience with it
AndyL
Flourite is supposed to be rinsed before putting in tank... Easiest way is with a 5g bucket in the bathtub, just keep stirring filling and draining until the runoff is basically clear. Andy

Garhan
Hio, clean it in a bucket by stirring it up either with a garden hose or by hand until it is clean clear water. Use it as a bottom layer in the substrate. There is a claim that algae wont grow on Florite. Wrong, it was the best algae bloom I ever had for a top layer.
