Brian G
I am giong to build a plywood tank, I want it to be 5Lx2Hx1.5W ft. approx. 112 gal. Is this tank big enough for 2 fire eels, 2 oscars, and a clown loach? I just moved into a smaller house so I would like to keep the tank as small as possible, without compromising the fish of course. I was planning on putting two HOB filters on it aswell, and some PVC under the sand substrate. Would this be suitable for a permanent tank?? Sam Chicklets
No this won't work Even 2 full grown oscars would be too much for a tank this size. Also clown loaches are shoaling fish and do better in groups.
Brian G
Thats fine about the Oscars and Clown Loaches my main focus about the tank is the Fire eels, do you know if the tank will fit the eels? As for the oscars and clown loaches I can figure something else to go with the eels (this is just my first idea), as long as the tank is big enough for the fire eels. Parachromis1
I personally think it would work.
Endugu
The fire eels should be kept seperatly from the oscars and clown loaches simply because of the very different water requirements. Also, if the two oscars pair off then they could pound the day lights out of the eels.
