bignose
Has anyone ever had a vampire shrimp? I seen them in pj's and was very tempted to buy one. Just wanted to know how they are to keep. pros/cons?
werner
Vampire shrimp are filter feeders like flower/bamboo/wood shrimp. They need a well established tank (preferably planted) that can provide them with lots of microorganisms to eat. A good current is helpful too- they'll sit and gather food from the current with the little "fans" on their legs. They're peaceful and don't mix well with aggressive tankmates. bignose
I think the only reason at the time I didn't buy it was because it's so much larger than my red crystal shrimp. Having both in the tank might look funny.
