Brian G
Ok, so I have been doing ALOT of looking around trying to decide what to put into a 60L X 24H X 18W. 115 gal. tank. Would these be suitable? 3 Flag Cichlid 2 Firemouths 2 Nile Puffer 1 Fire Eel 1 Black Ghost Knifefish, OR 1 Centipede Knifefish, OR 1 Elegant Knifefish. Please let me know if this would be a good community tank, I will be putting PVC tunnels under the substrate for the Eel, a rock structure set-up, and some planted areas in the tank also. Parachromis1
With cichlids you never know until you try it. I'd be a bit weary of the puffers though.
CORVETTE
Yes i have to agree puffers are a little nasty towards other fish. I do believe that some Knife fish have a problem unless they are in spiecies tanks as well.
Guest Master of Puppets
Puffers are for sure best left in species tanks even though they are very tempting to keep in a community.
Brian G
Would Amazon puffers work I have read that they are the only good community puffer, I dont know mabie I misread ??? (I made a mistake on my list, I meant to type Amazon puffer, not Nile puffer.) Edited April 24, 2009 by Brian G
fatpuffer
Puffers are tempermental. SA puffers are know schooling puffers and maybe the "friendliest" of all the puffers. However, they do require manual dental work...their beaks gets too long (no matter how many snails, lobsters, and shrimps I fed in my experience at least). You will have to catch them and do it every 3 months or so. They may pester the knife fish and/or get eaten by the eel. Not a good idea in my opinion. Brian G
Thanks for the advice, I will substitute the puffers for something else. Do you have any ideas ???
