Wingin' It
I think Fleshgear (on here...) is breeding Bronze Cory's If you wait for the 2nd Saturday of each month, Riverfront Aquariums has their FW fish on for 2 for 1 and they usually have a good assortment of cory's to choose from and range in price from $4-$10ish. Pretty much all the LFS in Calgary have cory's and they're usually not to badly priced. If you can wait a really long time...there will likely be a Fall auction in both Edmonton and Calgary, and there's always cory's there. Riverfront was kind enough to sex our corys when we bought them, or so they said. We took advantage of their discount for fish clubbers rather than waiting for the discount day and were quite please with the price. We've also bought Corys from Big Als and Pet Land with good results.
fish4fun
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/calgaryaquariums/ There is someone on the CAS newsgroup selling 30 or so cories. His direct e-mail address is: simonwong7@shaw.ca Here is the ad: Moving Sale! I'd like to get rid of most of my equipment. All have had water in them in the last couple of weeks (ie. they don't leak). You'll need to bring a friend along to move them out of my basement though. They are a little dirty, but nothing a little vinegar (or CLR) wouldn't take off. Coralife VHO 4-Lamp Ballast (Never been used): $250 Bought it a few years ago, and never got around to using it. Comes with a couple of VHO 4ft tubes as well (new as well) http://www.aquatichouse.com/lights_files/vhoballast.asp Tank 1: $80 60" x 24" x 15" (about 100 gallons). Have approx 30 of them. $2 each As well, I have 1 discus to give away. It's the last of the ones I was breeding, so I need it to go to a good home. It's been raised in ph lowered water all its life (although not softened water). Ph is approx 5.5 - 6. I will not give away to anyone who has never taken care of discus. Various other stuff (ie. pumps, filters, heaters, pond filters, uv sterilizers, lighting etc). Contact me if you're looking for something.. I'm pretty sure I have it I also have various fancy goldfish. (ie. ranchu/lionhead, fantail, jikins, tosakins, shubinkins). They're currently sitting in a tub on my deck.
