Jimmer107
I have a couple of CAE's in a 250 l planted tank and I have been trying to remove them. Does anyone have an easy way to catch them without destroying the whole tank?
Vallisneria
You could try the pop bottle method. Take a 2L bottle cut the top off and invert it(if you've made a wasp trap its the same thing). Then drop some food in the bottle and place it in the tank. I've used this to catch fry and it works quite well. The fish can swim into the bottle but can't swim back out. But if that doesn't work you can try using a divider. iamfrontosa
i went thru the same problem in my tank before. I ended up destroying the whole tank. You could let your fish sleep a while, and then turn on the light, and try to fish CAE out before he wakes up.

Vallisneria
did you catch him yet?
Jimmer107
No. Will try blinding him in the middle of the night, or make a trap for him with a pop bottle.
Jimmer107
I finally got them tonight. I saw one sucking on the side of a cory, so I figured I might as well get it done. I had to take all the driftwood out to catch them, but managed to do it without much damage to the plants. They are really fast!
