Guppygirl
I have a metal stand that would only support the edges of the tank if I was to put the tank on it. I was wondering if this is safe or should I put some kind of board on the bottom to support the weight of the substrate? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks. timbruun
most tanks only touch the stand on the edges anyway. If you have a look underneath the glass bottom should be held up by the edges and usually a brace in the middle.
catshanon
I have a 33G tank on a iron tubular stand. Just the edges are supported and sometimes I worry that its going to come crashing down.. I have been using it for over a year now and nothing has happened. But I guess it would depend on the size of the tank. 50 and more gallons can be a cause for concern (IMO), but 20 or 30 should be fine. BettaFishMommy
why not do a sheet of plywood and a layer of styrofoam? that would be best. you could paint out the wood n foam to match the stand too.
