MarkN
I have a breeding trio of Albino bristlenose plecos but the male keeps pushing all the eggs out of the cave and not tending them? He does fertilize them as I have scooped some out in the passed and hatched them but I am curious as to why he does this and if there is anything that can be done to persuade him to rear the fry on his own? Thanks, Mark
fairdeal
At least my long fin albino BN male counts to 40 before he tosses the eggs out. He refuses to look after more fry than that. Maybe yours is still just too young or hasn't got the paternal instinct developed enough yet. It happens sometimes. Maybe try putting some of the eggs back in the cave and see if he continues to reject them or if he will actually start looking after a few.
