FishBrain
How do you stop Moneywort from growing above the water? is it like a normal plant that you pinch the main stalk and it grows out more branches or do I just have to have into a deeper tank? Thanks :ml:
FishBrain
ok no answer... How about other plants too. Lots of the plants are growing above the water of a ten gallon. is this ok?? should I move them into a deeper tank?
dikspence
If the top of the tank is open then it is ok for the plants to grow out of the top. On the other hand if you have a full hood I would recommend that you trim the plants so they don't get tangled in the lights (don't want to start a fire). I've found that trimming the top 1/3 of the plant off works well. You can either replant the top or just throw it away.
Garhan
Cutting your plants back, helps them grow out thicker and stronger. With the cuttings replant or trade them in at your LFS and trade for other plants, or give them away to buddies on AA. Tanker
I'd love a bit of the moneywort, if you're in the 'giving' kinda mood... heck, I'd even part with a few bucks for a decent chunk. Just what I need for my tank. PM me.
