robin
hello. i have a tank with a school of demasoni. they tend to stay snug to the rockwork and take up only the bottom half of the tank. i am looking for suggestions of another fish, contrasting in color, not a huge fish (yellow labs came to mind) that will swim more in the open water of the top half of the tank. i would like to put in just one, or two or three (depending on the needs of the fish). thoughts? thanks in advance. robin
FishyFishy!
Have you ever considered medium clown loaches? I have them in with my cichlids and they seem very very happy! They are very interesting to watch too, as they never stay still. You can try other agressive Mbunas, but nothing with stripes like a demasoni (i.e. a kenyi) or the same color. Electric Yellows do great, Yellow labs, the Red Zebra Metriaclima estherae, and the Cobalt Zebra Maylandia callainos can also be good tankmates. timbruun
Yellow labs will look really good. Everyone comments on how the blue and yellow stand out so nice in my tanks. And actually I'd recommend a couple Synodontis Petricolas for the bottom just because they are very neat to watch and I like them. The Petricolas enjoy snails as treats too if you don't mind feeding your excess to other fish.
