maniac
Hi All, I would like to get a couple Siamese Algae Eaters and have heard that they can fight/nip at Rainbow Sharks. I have a 55 gallon tank which has a fair bit of driftwood that I have used to make caves, a few silk plants, and a few other ornaments. Should I be concerned for my Rainbow Shark or for the SAE's if I were to get them? Current stock is 3 Flames Tetras, one bristlenose pleco, one rainbow shark, and 2 Kribensis. I am wanting to get more flame tetras as this was my stock list from my 25 gallon that went away so I could set this new tank up. I'm not sure what other fish that I want to add in the future. Thanks, Edited January 27, 2010 by maniac
nancyr
I have two SAEs in each of my 90g cichlid tanks, they are all v. large and like you when i first put them in i had read that they could be agressive but have had no problems, initially they chased each other but I even have albino plecos in each of the tanks and there hasn't been any issues. nancy
fishclubgirl
I have an SAE in with some swords, limias and juvie BNs with no issues. In one of my other tanks, I have a red tailed black shark who can hold his own against anyone. If I was in your capable shoes(tanks), etc, I'd give it a shot. They might chase each other around a bit but that's about it.
