Would work over a pond ( or grow room ) but aquarium applications would be limited. @ 16" it is 2 inches deeper than the opening on my 75G. A Thousand Watts on 48 or a five foot tank is heavy; but do-able. 1000 Watts over 19 inches is ( even for me) excessive. Would eat about Fifty Bucks of power a month.
