sicklid
Here is the link to my pictures. If you can help me name some of the mbuna not named I would appreciate it. This was my first foray into the African world a little over 2 years ago. The large blue and large pale orange ones I have had that long. The frontosa and electric yellow came from a neighbour who was moving They are about 3 years old. Thanks..... http://sicklidmania.tumblr.com/ I do feed them NLS. Kronosdelsol
I really like the Lwanda Peacock and that Blue Dolphin. If you could start over again on the 45, would you go with that same size or something larger?
sicklid
I've had the 45 (it's a corner tank) for a number of years , but when my neighbour gave me his fish I had to go bigger to accomodate them. So I bought the 90, built a stand and transferred everything over. For sure the 90 is better and not really more work. In Feb I got a Fluval 405 to put on the 90 and then started up the 45 again with the 305. That is why the fish there are smaller. I still have a 30 and a 20 that I may try to do some breeding for giggles. This site has been hugely helpful with insight into this hobby. Going to the auction in Mar was great too. Thankyou to all who post with great advice!!!!!
Kronosdelsol
That's my story as well. I started with a 45 gallon planted and moved up to a 90 gallon. I was thinking of starting a 45 mbuna tank. Thanks for the email.
sicklid
What a surprise!! I just restarted my 45 in Feb with new little Africans. Last week it looked like the Blue Cobalt was holding, even though I thought this was too early and that I had never seen that before. Then I thought she spit them out and everyone had a snack. Well last night I was feeding them and something zipped out of the rocks to grab a morsel. Sure enough I have 2 new fry in my tank. After all the posts I read about getting the temp right, PH right sponge filter etc etc ......it's just that easy. Put the boys with the girls and look what happens. I have added a picture to my tumblr and it is the second set form the top.......too funny..... http://sicklidmania.tumblr.com/
