Vallisneria
I have cherry shrimp in several tanks... color is more dependent on the substrate , plant material and lighting... Black substrate is great for cherries and green shrimp.... I agree. In my experience the same shrimp will color up differently depending on the substrate, and decor. I breed my cherries in a bare bottom tank and they are very pale, not a deep red. But as soon as I put those shrimp into a tank with a substrate and plants they turn the deep cherry red. A dark sand or gravel works best. They look very striking against a black sand.
