waster Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 currently dealing with anchor worms in a tank research has shown me that this is more commonly an issue with koi and ponds the most common treatment ive found online is dimilin -- seems to be a controlled insecticide in Canada. anyone know where i can source one? i imagine there are enough farms in the area that we must have a local source somewhere if not, anyone know of a proven alternative that is safe to sensitive animals? thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It will be safe for fish and shrimp at this dose but will kill small snails and in your case worms.. If worried just have ready de-chlorinator or h202... Mix 0.6 grams in 1 litre of pond or aquarium water to dissolve then pour in pond or aquarium. Wait for 4 hours....If water quality is good water will turn pink or light purple in time frame. If it does add de-chlorinator and your done.. If your water goes yellow or brown...your water quality is not so good....add another 0.6g for 80 gallons if your water doesn`t turn pink or purple in 4 hours. Continue process every 4 hours until water is pink or purple...add de-chlorinator after each 4 hour dose.. This will not only kill your worms but remove the organics from the water.. Do not dose more then I recommend...If fish start to gasp just add h202 or de-chlorinator to remove potassium permangate from water..
