Fyvie
lol um I got 5 24' t5 ho bulbs on my 40 gal breeder with co2 and fluorite. seems to be growing but the grren string algea is thriving and my abp and panda corys cannot keep up I need some cherry shrimp I think to keep up on the growth. I don't want to take to much out of the tank cuz its a great food source for the bottom dwellers.

Vimmer
Having trouble wrapping my head around the math. I'm trying 6500k 42w CFL bulbs which is double the wattage and double the lumens of the 23w bulbs shown in the chart. The chart is putting the PAR of the 23w at around 50 micromols/ m2. Does this mean my one 42 watt is nearly double that? Does doubling the lumen output double the PAR? Am I already at 100micromols and would adding a second bulb double it again?
