MarkoD
you dont need to run a sump on a freshwater... but you can if you want.... if you do then you'll need to drill holes and have an overflow built into the tank. or you an just run canister filters like the fluval FX5
peckham125
how much is that ? am i better off buying second hand ?
Wingin' It
If you do sump, you'll need another tank for the sump, the bigger the better...you'll need to either drill the 180 or you can do an overflow box (or a DIY overflow with PVC), then you'll need to either build the sump or buy one, and you'll also need a return pump. Sometimes it's kind of a headache to think about it. I personally prefer canisters...you can usually find a good deal on a 2nd hand one on here or kijiji, plan to spend a few hundred dollars on either option. peckham125
i think a canister is the way to go, do they sit in the tank ? or a tube from the canister into the tank ?
Wingin' It
The intake tube will go inside the tank, and the return tube will also go inside the tank, while the actual canister will sit on the floor/in the stand. It's really easy.
