So have you seen any of the big stores offer $1/gallon sales? Just trying to get the rest of the tanks for my Shrimp rack so nothing special is needed. Ron well yeah, on boxing day big als has some pretty cheap tanks. few weeks ago a store was closing here in town and they were selling 20 gallon tanks for 10 bucks and 70 gallon tanks for 50 bucks

  7. This will have to be a downloaded show then :P I watched the previews for it, and im dissapointed all the "corals" are casted. At least they come up with amazing tanks though. thats true..... im pretty sure if they did real corals it would be next to impossible to maintain

  10. no such thing as one that doesnt waste water..... i think the most efficient is 3:1 ratio
  11. Neil Wilson glassdude@live.ca he builds for most of the stores in edmonton, but you can contact him directly and he'll give you a good deal.

  13. my build thread is here http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=73778
  14. thanks.... i shot it with a 5d mark ii with a 70-200 f2.8 is it works great but i would never recommend a DSLR as a video camera for home videos and stuff like that. there is no auto focus, when shooting something you constantly have to manually adjust the focus on the lens and keeping it stable is almost impossible
  15. here it is at about 3 months old 180 gallon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNr4uQ4SZOQ&feature=channel_video_title
  16. photography is never about equipment. good cameras dont take good pictures. good photographers utilize the equipment(regardless of how good or bad) to create good pictures
  17. try not using the flash on the camera. if you need extra light, use an external off-camera flash or even a flashlight or something
  18. red coral has nice rock i think its like 3.50 a pound
  19. dont bother with 300 pounds of liverock...... buy maybe 100 pounds of LR and then do the rest with base rock...... it'll all be the same after a couple months
  20. thats an oxymoron, good hydrometers dont exist. for a reef you need a refractometer
  21. not at all. i thought it would be hard so i started with a 55 gallon saltwater...... after a month i realized how easy it is, i went to a 180 gallon and its been going good so far. its just more expensive than freshwater
  22. lol im pretty sure its ok. its not like you're gonna be taking truck fulls of rock.
