SkyGrl Posted March 9, 2011 Report Share Posted March 9, 2011 anubis tried to driftwood. or java fern, your java fern may be eaten quickly.. depends on your fish... what kind of cichlids? size... ect. anubis is the only thing that has survived in out cichlid tank. nothing will say in your substrate so it will have to be a floater or rhizome type plant.. nanmer Posted March 11, 2011 Report Share Posted March 11, 2011 I just put in some Hornwort in my 110 gallon with assorted african and south/central cichlids. They have not touched it. I attached it to the decorations, near the substrate so they can't dig it up. After some research they say Hornwort tastes bad, I am not going to eat some to test the theory!
