Okotoks
So i recently bought an assassin snail in hopes of reducing my pond snails in a 20 gallon shrimp/plant tank. Well the darned snail just does laps around the front of the tank, avoiding the pond snails altogether. Is this normal? Do they only assassinate at night when I am tucked in bed not watching him? Wingin' It
They usually eat during the night...you probably won't get to see them eating unless you interrupt them during the night. And sometimes they don't leave the shells in an obvious spot...plus it also takes a few Assassins to kill large numbers of pest snails. Caprichoso
For your tank size, you will need about 10 of them. I've never seen mine eat a snail either but I see the empty shells.
