If you haven't ordered yet, see if they can give you MH bulbs that are closer to 10,000K or even 6500K

The high light myth , , , based on a theory which many have proved not the case..So its kind of an old way of thinking but many still use these methods..

I totally agree but all we can do is try to change their minds one post at a time.....

I would do 2 x 150 or 175 watt.

I'm sure you could grow most everything with 2x175 but you could probably go 2x250 but .

I was thinking of adding a MH fixture

I'm thinking of using MH as well MH would be quick and easy though. T5H0 work, but they just look so flat.

the problem i have is when you make these statements is that

You forgot to check on your shoes today. I saw them over there , , , on the other side of the fence. -ham-

I could just be reading them wrong, but I don't understand how either of us are contradicting ourselves. There is no fence hopping. Most people use way to much light, saying we want to use MH doesn't at all mean we are looking for more light... just different types of light. I did say he could use 2x250 watts, but I think that is a lot of light, and I also said he could have trouble balancing it with co2 and fertilizers. 2x150 watts isn't super high light. over that size a tank. It would probably be low-med at the substrate and high light at the top of the tank.

Could you please explain a little more? Also, what is your opinion on what he should get?

(I figure I should add in that this isn't a personal attack, just to be clear)

I would raise the fixture 12" atleast...it will help with spread...similar to werners...

I think mine's about 14" above the tank? There's enough room to get in there and mess around without burning my hair on the lights.
