Subclass Pulmonata, Family Acroloxidae

Do you mean snails? If so they're pretty harmless. They can overpopulate the tank, but if you don't overfeed then they shouldn't breed to much. Also, if you do get too many in the tank you can always give them away to members with puffer fish or loaches. Those fish love to eat them :D Also, Assassin snails will kill other snails. They're nice looking too!

White specks? Hmm, yeah snails can look white when their babies. They do grow larger, to about an 1/2 inch to 1 inch. They also procreate with themselves, no male female needed. The only snails that I know of that breed by having a male and female are Apple Snails. You can keep just one of those and you'll have no babies. They're really pretty :)

I think fishgalore is talking about little water bugs that are very small and look like white specks on the glass. I got them a couple times by doing regular water changes. Just do a few good sized water changes and then keep up with regular ones and they should go away. At least that's how I got rid of mine
