    Hello

Welcome to the site! The easiest way to post pictures is to make a photobucket account, upload your pics, and then post them here.
  2. My original male Betta in the 55g. He loves to weave around the plants, but hates getting his picture taken lol Thanks to everyones advice all 3 bettas are happy in their new homes
  3. Thanks for the advice! I'll have to check those out. I got two males in my 5g with a divider, and my original male in the 55g. He's doing great in there. His colors are so much nicer, and the Angels and Kribs have seen him, stared a bit, then swam away. That's as far as anything has gone, so they seem content with him taking the top space of the vals.
  4. Wstched a little bit, very interesting. I'll have to try watching the entire thing. I love my Multies, and apparently so do my Plecos, as they seem to have been accepted into their community. Seeing my plecos curled up in the shells by a Multie, is too cute lol
  5. I've got 2 Clowns, 1 BN, 3 Oto's, cherry and amano shrimp, and I'll soon be buying some more horned nerites, cause my last ones died and my poor glass is getting covered in green spots. They seem to be the only actual algae eaters I've ever owned lol
  6. If she's stressed, then she may hold onto the fry and not birth. The stress and holding in the fry can kill her. They do best when they have a safe place to hide and give birth. Breeding boxes I find do help with some, but can stress others. A divider in the tank would probably work well too, or if you could get some more hiding places in the tank for her. Clay pots and PVC piping work well as hiding places. I hope she makes it, and you have some healthy fry wiggling around
  7. I personally don't trust those ones. If the room is cooler or warmer than the tank, then it's possible that the thermostat may be reading a mix of the tank and room heat. I don't know this for sure, but it's always been a thought I've had, and is the reason I get the ones that are directly in the water.
  8. Thank you both! I'm glad I'm able to take my time moving them, and that I don't have to find new homes for the multies yet. Good that half my tank is Vals (about 30-50), they should love their new home when I move them this Saturday!
  9. I hadn't thought to try that, thanks! I'll put him in the 55g this Saturday, and see how he does. At the very least, I can keep him in a breeding box if things go bad. The flow of the water in the 5g seems to stress him out, so the 55g might suit him better with a more gentle flow. Actually, I'm gonna move him in there now. If the Kribs bug him, I can move him to the box. That tank is the most stable, so he'll be happy
  10. 1. I have some Angels I bought at the auction. They're 3 young marbles, and I had to acclimate them to my water slowly since they were in R/O water. They're in a 5g temporarily. I have to move some fish around in my other tanks so they'll be happier in the 55g. This is something I was going to do anyway, just in more of a hurry to do it this week, cause I don't want the Angels in the 5g too long. I would like to ask, how long will they be alright in the 5g? One looks about 1 1/2 inches, and the other two look about 2 inches (this is including their tall fin spans). If they're alright in there until Saturday night, then I can take more time moving everything around nicely, instead of hurrying to get it all done tomorrow. 2. Along with my Angels, I'll be moving my Multies to my 55g. Will this pairing be alright? The Muties are shell dwellers, and don't stray from their shells often. With them staying on the bottom, and hiding in their shells when needed, I think they should be okay. It says in my sig I have Kribs in the 55g. They'll be moved to the 20g, so they can be on their own (the two younger males will stay in the 55g until they find a new home, which I'm working on. Their aggression isn't too bad yet since they're still young and have no mates). I've been thinking of rehoming most or all of my Multies as well, so if that would solve the problem, I'm good to do that. 3. How many of the 3 angels could I keep in the 55g? It's enough room for 1 (I think, correct me if the info I read was wrong), but I'm not sure about the other 2. No idea how to tell their sex, and I know they can be aggressive when older. I was planning on rehoming one of them for sure, but if needed I'll rehome 2. I'll admit, I should have been more prepared before I bought these, but I've been seriously thinking about buying some for awhile now, so kinda just jumped in. Though I didn't actually think I'd get them at $5, cause I wasn't going to try outbidding someone. If I made a horrible mistake in buying these by not having a proper set-up, they will be finding new homes. Not gonna keep them if it's bad for them. I've grown attatched to them already, and spent 5 hours acclimating them to my water, so I'm hoping they can stay. My fave two! The other one doesn't have as much black and white contrast, but still pretty. Though it seems to hate my phone, cause I didn't get a single good pic of it lol Edit: After looking at the pic, I'm thinking I might be a bit off about the sizes...
  11. He's currently in a 5g filtered and heated tank, but I was wondering... 1. I have a 3g tank that I'd like to move my Betta to. With weekly water changes will it be okay with no filter? 2. Is a heater needed? It will be in my daughters room, which is the warmest in the house. 3. I want to add some plants to it for extra oxygen. The window will be covered with a thick plastic to keep it warmer, so not much light will get in. If they plants aren't getting enough light, would it be bad if I got a low emitting light to put above the tank at night and double it as a night light? Or should I go for something during the day only? 4. As long as I put a divider in the middle, can I fit two in there? If moving him to the 3g will be bad for him, then I'll try to set up the 5g in my daughters room. The 3g is hard to get a filter and heater on to, since it's rather narrow. My daughter likes it though, so thought I'd try to put it to use. My pretty boy
  12. Pumpkins will breed with Cherries and probably produce some ugly shrimp it is best to keep them separate and constantly cull to keep quality up. That's a shame. I only really have time to care for 1 shrimp tank, since they're the most demanding. I suppose I could just feed the ugly shrimp to my fish. That way I have more variety in my shrimp tank, and my fish get a yummy snack.
  13. Oh darn, now I have no reason not to get some lol Do they interbreed with cherries? I suppose that doesn't really matter since I'm at the point with shrimp where I don't care what they are, as long as they look pretty and stay alive I'm happy lol Think you'll have some little shrimplets to sell in a few months?
  14. Only thing I can think of is stress issues or water quality. Danios are a schooling fish are are recommended in schools of 6+, but it is possible for them to be happy in 3+ groups. You could try adding a few more to see if that helps cheer them up. Also, if you're changing the water every few weeks, try changing it every 1-2 weeks. I base water changes on how many fish and plants are in the tank, so my 55g can go 2-3 weeks while one of my 10g tanks needs to be done weekly. You might see a difference if you change how often you do WC's. Having the lights off shouldn't bother the fish at all, but if they're on for more than 12 hours a day, they can be stressed which would cause them to hide in dark places. I hope that helps. You have a beautiful Husky! I'm a sucker for Husky's lol They're trouble makers with big egos, but they're so darn loveable! My malamute got away with everything cause of that cute face of his lol
  15. I think you can sign up at the auction. I think a friend of mine signed up that way. Not sure if that's still available though. I'm glad you bumped up this topic, cause I thought the auction was this Sunday...that would have been embarrassing showing up at an empty building lol
