jvision
Is your shrimp tank planted? If so, I'd just toss in a few pieces of food (NLS wafers, or specialty food that doesn't turn to mush right away) and let them be. They should be fine, and will start to nibble on algae and crud growing on the plants after all the food is gone. Just do a good water change a couple days before you leave, and plan for one when you get back.
Caprichoso
You can leave shrimp without food for quite some time in an established tank as long as there are plants and mosses that they can browse on. They will be totally fine. I don't trust those food blocks and would be worried about contaminating the water.
