You experience sounds like what every one else has had happen.

I have been doing some looking around and I'm trying something I think is new. From what I found on fishbase the vast majority of wild sightings have been around Shanghi, which would definately make them a sub tropical fish.

I lowered the temp in the tank, shut off the heater actually. The temp has been around 72-74 for the past few weeks. The change in behavior has been huge, I expected them to slow down but what I have found is that they actually have started to act like other puffers.

They cruise around calmly, no big spazzy movements, they act a lot like little fahakas.

Good luck with the mbu rudy, I hope you like your 1000 gal tank once you set it up :o
