rp_dawg
Can anyone identify or sex the apistos in the attached photos. All supposedly the same species purchased in November from big al's Calgary. They are amazing colour changers. I believe the tank was labelled "rainbow apistos" but I think they are "blue cheek apistos" (Apistogramma Eonotus) Edited December 27, 2011 by rp_dawg
Jayba
Looks like the top left and bottom right pic is of a male and female Apistogramma Eonotus. The top right pic, I have no idea, I will key them tomorrow and see what I get.
jvision
Looks like two male and one female A. eunotus to me
JORG
It is very hard to identify Apisto's that are labeled with only common names. They could be anything. Female Apisto's look very similar in a lot of the species. I don't think they are A. eunotus as the male pictures are missing the bright red spot behind the gill plate and around the pectoral fins. rp_dawg
Thanks for the help so far. Photo 4625 is still juvenile. Am I correct in assuming photo's 4618 and 4625 are the males? It's kinda funny because 4618 could really care less about 4625, but seems to always chase 4626 around the tank. Does that help/change anything?
