SuperGuppyGirl
Adding my two cents worth, I have been doing the carpentry bit for almost 7 years (cabinetry, framing, etc) and have bought from Ikea as well, on the most part Ikea furniture is good disposable furniture but have found most of there goods like tables etc are not actual wood but a wood veneer (thin sheet of real wood glued to particle board/ MDF) so any water and BOOM...mold and disintegration. If you wanted to use this table I would suggest a plastic sheet to cover the top of the table and reinforcing the legs to the table top with some L brackets, and adding a center post/leg of 4x4 also using the brackets to the underside center of table top. Pick up cheap brackets and plastic at Walmart, and if you scout out any truss plant places they might have some scrap piece laying around for free say 2- 2x4 the length needed you could nai together?
