ridersfan
Hey I was wondering if this a normal this for them to do this is one of the first larger cats I've owned!! So they look like their gasping for air, opening and closing their mouths and gills.
fairdeal
The bigger cats will tend to look like they are in distress but it is completely normal for them to breathe a little harder than other fish. It only becomes a problem when the breathing is rapid and they spend more and more time cruising the top of the tank. Then you know it is time to do more water changes and/or add extra current via powerheads to oxygenate the water more.
