SerLunchbox
well, i recently came into a few fish that are just cool. The N. Ocellatus (blue variety) are just cool. Though they really did a number on the male J. ornatus that was in the tank with them. Infact they beat him to death (or so i think). Is there any other fish that could go with a colony of these guys that would hold their own? I was thinking of j. transcriptus. It is really bad that i got into tang. cichlids so bad, one girl that works in the kitchen with me actually lived about 3 Km or so from lake tanganyika and is familiar somewhat with the fish that they farm for trade ... Vallisneria
So you are looking for another fish that will live with your ocellatus in a 15g? Personally i wouldn't put anything else in a 15g that already has ocellatus. Ocellatus are fiesty and will pick on any fish added. I say stick with a small colony of ocellatus for the 15g and get a bigger tank to do a tang community. I used to have a trio of blue occelatus in my 15g and i was never able to add anything else. They killed anything i tried.
African_Fever
A 15 is definitely too small to be adding anything else to if you've already got ocellatus.
Cap'n
Agreed, but they'll be interesting enough on their own. I did have a few danios and guppies with my ocellatus, but that was in a 15gal hex. I think the added height of the tank allowed for completely different territories for the two groups of fish, though.
