Most of stones that you have on the picture have high limestone content. They will harden your water even more than our water already is. Unless that's what you need, of course...

If you have a sand substrate, Malaysian Trumpet Snails are ( in my opinion) a near necessity. They will shift the sand around at night and keep it from forming air pockets which could release some really bad bacteria (and a horrific stench!). Just be warned, MTS's are live bearers and WILL reproduce as long as a steady food source is available. In saying this, they are beneficial and won't eat live plants...I have an uncountable number of them in my 75 gallon and it's not a problem.

They really come out at night; during the day you'll see some but at night they do their thing.

However, If you're looking for a larger snail, Rabbit Snails & Zebra Nerite's do well in my sand tanks.
