fishclubgirl
In my job, I have recieved some samples of waterproof very high bond tape. Am hoping that someone wants to try making a tank with this as I've seen it work on smaller containers. Anyone want to test it out??
nanmer
Wonder if this tape would work on small tanks with cracks in them?
cainechow
I'll give it a go. However my skillz of a glass cutter aren't the best. How would we use the tape. just match up the edges like you would with silicone then tape the joint?
fishclubgirl
Actually it's double sided optically clear so you would use it to connect them. With my ineptness, I'd probably end up taping a finger in there. It does take 24 hours to set so you would want to tape it.
cainechow
Sounds like some fantastic stuff. My concern is that if your glass isn't perfectly square and straight you'll have issues. How thick and wide is the tape?
Ace22
I wonder if the adhesive is non toxic. It is one thing to find something to stick a tank together with another to find something that is non toxic and long lasting.
cainechow
Very good point Ace.
Burbot
I have a bunch of acrilic laying around that could be used in an experiment like this. Willing to try but what is the bonding stuff made of? Non-toxic, environmentally friendly? Might just be an exercise in frustration other wise. Cheers, K
