plaidcat
I have a 30 gallon tank that is overrun with Trumpet Snails, I have tried the lettuce in a salt shaker trick and then scooping the snails out of the tank ( nearly impossible.!!) I have heard that Clown Loaches and Yoyo Loaches are good for eating snails. I do not want a Clown Loach cause they grown too big and I used to have a Yoyo, before I had snails, but he dioed 3 years ago. I have looked all over for a Yoyo in Edmonton stores, but just can not find one. Does anyone know of a place that has them?
Sprucegruve
Well if you want some yoyo loaches aquarium central has some occasionally.but that may not fix your problem. Fairdeal in Calgary always has some nice clown loaches, but they get pretty big. when I had a big mts problem in my tanks, the problem was I was over feeding the tanks.Fish only need to eat a small amount of food per day(the size of their eye is a good judge, for most fish) If you add a lot of food most of it gets lost in the gravel or sucked up in a filter anyways
syno321
IME loaches are not very effective in reducing Malaysian Trumpet snails. What sprucegruve said.
