creekbottom
Are brass fittings safe to use for shrimp and fish?
Senroc
I don't see why not. They're used for potable water all the time. The only issue I could see is if your planning to use them in a salt water rig. Good chance they'll corrode pretty quickly and start leaking. blink
Do you use tap water in your tank? Keep in mind plenty of household plumbing has brass parts in it, and it's ALL going to be older and more corroded than the stuff in your tank. I've read not to use it by hardcore shrimpers raising $100+ shrimp but I think for most people I wouldn't worry about it.
Ace22
I have used brass check valves on my sump and they have been in service for a couple of years. I use plastic or nylon where I can because they are cheaper.
