kindasleepy
I haven't been on here in a while. After having my tank running for about a year, I'm tearing it down and going back to freshwater. I've sold off my live rock, fish and coral and now have a whole bunch of live sand to pull out. Any recommendations on how to go about that? I think I've got a fair amount of bristleworms and other bugs in there so I'm not sure if there's a good way to kill it off before just scooping it all out. Any suggestions on making this easier? Aysha
Just use a kittylitter scoop Don't worry about the bugs they'll take care of themselves. If you really want to kill all the live stuff quickly add a pot of boiling water in the tank slowly. ckmullin
If your intent is to kill and sanatize remove as much of the sand with a scoop, dispose of and use bleach to sanitize the tank. If you have crazy scale built up use clr. Rinse a couple times and your good to go for FW.
