lazyass
It's a 75g, 4'. It leans probably about 1/4" to the front. On hardwood floor and only has a few inches of water in it so far Do I need to worry about it being level or is it safe as is? Thanks
zoopkamol
always best to level tank to avoid any stress on glass. At the very least styrofoam under it.....i would level it for safety. 75 gallons of water on a floor= not fun
ckmullin
My 75 gal is leaning roughly 1.5 cm from front to back and I have no worries or concerns. The reason why I have no concern is that it is stable like this...it is not shifting nor getting any worse. As long as it is stable your fine. .25" is nothing. Fill it up and check again. blink
I think you should level it. 1/4" is way out of level on something as short as a 75. if it were 6-7 feet long and out 1/4" I'd still say to level it... Like zoopkamol said, it's easier to level than clean up water
lazyass
Definitely going to level it. Picked up some cedar shims last night. Next question, I I out the shims the whole way across or just the corners and middle? First time I've had to do this.
zoopkamol
Level in corners first then fill in spaces with shims too snug fit so supported across the length of tank. Other shims just help keep more stable if that makes sense. on my 6' tank I used around 15 shims on 6' side and 5 on the 2' sides so stand is supported all around. Really 3 shims leveled tank rest just for my peace of mind
blink
Glad to hear you are going to level, people forget how much weight is in these little tubs of water, even 1/4" out is going to really stress one pane more than the others
