piedpiper
Hello everyone. I have been away from the hobby for about a year now and I can't stand it any longer! A little over a year ago my 75 gal mbuna tank was flourishing, I had about 20 adult mbuna including 2 breeding pairs; Melanochromis auratus and Labidochromis sp. "Hongi". Both of which had bred multiple times. all was well until we came home from vacation to find the catastrophic loss of all but the bristle nosed pleco. In a state of mourning I turned to the salty side and briefly tried my hand at a marine aquarium. That didn't last very long as I realised that I didnt have the $$ to really achieve what I wanted. so the tank was cleaned up and exiled to the garage until now!! I haven't yet decided if I want to go with mbuna again or maybe a colony of tropheus but it won't be long before I'm up and running again!! I can't wait! I have Found this forum to be very informative and I look forward to sharing my progress once I get going.
ckmullin
Hello and welcome to AA. Fish are always good but the real fun is with the plants!
Ron
Welcome back. Marine is definitely costly, I could fill my whole fish room with shrimp tanks again for less than I have into my 70 gallon marine tank and I didn't even go really high end. piedpiper
Hello and welcome to AA. Fish are always good but the real fun is with the plants! I've done planted tanks in the past and I really enjoyed it . I might try a java fern or maybe anubias but I've found that theres not many plants that that can survive in a mbuna tank!
