sm1ke Posted May 17, 2016 Report Share Posted May 17, 2016 I'm stepping back into the hobby after a long hiatus, and decided I would try my hand at a low tech planted tank this time around. Bought some substrate and a few plants from ckmullin aka Keith, who also suggested that I upgrade the old T8 fixture to a T5HO. He showed me how I could gut the old T8 fixture and stick a T5HO fixture in its place, then pointed me to Incredigrow here in Calgary to buy the new bulb and fixture. I stopped by there during my lunch break just now, old housing in hand, and the gentleman who helped me out actually retrofitted the bulb and fixture into the housing on the spot, and it took him less than 10 mins. Very very clean work as well, much better than I could have done at home. No pics, but I can upload one later on if anyone wants. The point is that they are very helpful and do great work.
