a1foxes
I'm looking for suggestions as to what I can put in a 55 gal tank with a 12" Scarlet Pleco. I have few large syndontis for busy but friendly bottom feeders that won't get eaten, not too sure what else I can put in that isnt going to get too big or nip at him. I'm leaning towards a few discus, but I've never had them before so I'm asking... :eh: I've got LOTS of plecos, but never like this guy - he is my new favorite pet... He's rather shy, was picked on a little by a large tankmate so I'd like to see him be the king for the rest of his days!
jvision
I'd go with any other SA "community" fish. Full-grown Cory's, Angels, Acaras, larger tetras (serpae, bleeding heart, black skirt, etc.), Sevrums... Basically, anything that is too large to eat (I once had a 12" Pleco eat a dozen White Cloud Minnows!), and is relatively peaceful.
Fish_Frenzy
I don't think I would put Angels or Discus with a big pleco as I have had a 8 inch pleco attack my angels at night when they are resting. The plecos try to eat the slime coat off of them. But I have had no problems with clown loaches, black skirt tetras, gold skirt tetras, gold barbs, rosy barbs etc...
