  1. Welcome to the boards!
  2. Oh no, Jonah that is just aweful  Was there an ammonia spike maybe? Let me know if there is anything I can do. I can hold some clowns for you if nescessary.
  3. Beautiful!!!!!! Always wished I could have a lionfish. Think I could jam one in the 14g? :shifty: hahaha
  4. I have a lot of the teeny little white curley-cue looking ones. They seem to like the back the best as it is plastic. Other than looking like a bunch of white dots, they aren't doing anything bad, so i have left them alone. The ones on the glass I just scrape off. They are definitely making a whole lot more of themselves though.
  5. Thank you very much Here is what it looked like when it started for comparison: Lol, pretty bad I know! But slowly it improves
  6. Yup, red coral. *cough* my poor wallet. They have really great colors. I tried to get one of everything, lol. Running the stock light, as I suck at DYI. No sump, which is why the macro in there, lol.
  7. always love your fish pics
  8. Yeah, I know the mix is on the "don't do this list" hehe, but so far no issues at all. No one picks on the sevies, the jewel and the rusty hold each other in check and the kadangos are scared of everything I foresee having to remove some sevies in the future due to growing up.
  9. Gudgeons Apistogramma Red rainbow that we don't want in our community tank :P (ok I know not the best pic, hehe)
  10. "Mongrel" baby cichlid (please don't flame me, lol :bang1: , but it is cute and it is one of the few pics I have up close that aren't blurry) Another shot of the 120
  11. BC14 Ok, still working on the bryopsis and a bit of hair where I could not reach the glass without a rockslide. Royal Gramma (sorry for the blurry it never stops moving, lol) Lawnmower Blenny Rics From the side Hammer FTS 8g not stocked yet
  12. Ok I finally got ahold of a camera to take some pics. Sorry for the quality and not hiding the bubbler in the cichlid tank, lol. 120g planted community Rainbow 72g cichlid tank
  13. Beautiful fish, I think I will be getting in on this deal.
  14. Oh that reminds me. We bought an air conditioner for the bedroom. The temp still stays rather warm (about 80), but no longer having the big fluctuations like before. There is a bit of an issue with the fans only working properly when they feel like it, but Albert is ordering me in a new hood, so that should help. I am thinking of changing the stock pump as well.
  15. Actually yes, it has improved I moved it to a higher spot on the rocks, made sure to keep up with WC's and feed it mysis. It has done the ugly tentacle thing on me a couple times now, but so far I have found if I feed it, then do a WC it perks right up.
  16. What are the store's hours? i looked on their site but no hours, no pricing
  17. They have "dissappeared". I don't know whether they dyed during cycle or what, but have not seen them in quite some time. I guess unless they make a reappearance or things start getting nibbled I will stick to the adage "if it aint broke don;t fix it" Odd that there are no bodies, but my hermits could have ate them I guess. Found a claw in the tank the other day--maybe it dropped it like a porcelain would? Maybe they have gotten extremely good at hiding, have nooo idea, lol. Thanks to everyone who replied to this post
  18. Would an oto work maybe?
  19. Will sticking joe's juice on them kill 'em, maybe if I pour it on the affected area of the rock so I don't kill everything on the rock, then rinse?? Scraping the rock didn't do it. If some sort of caustic would work how long do I leave it on for? Is there an animal that would kill the hydroids and not kill my zoos/xenia/frogspawn?
  20. Thanks everyone! Jonah, I found that $1 water place, awesome!! Alot better bang for my buck than the $5 a bottle I was paying. Everything seems to have perked up, still not quite as colorful as the store (but my lighting is not as pretty as theirs either), the zoos are making new polyps, the xenia new branch-thingies and even the frogspawn looks a bit happier now, I think he may make it after all as long as I keep right on those WC's.
  21. No I don't add additives, I use ocean pro pure salt and water changes for that. Will do "the turn off things" next time I coral feed. As to the nls I had not heard that from anyone. The lfs fed theirs nls in the same tank with the same equipment and also had several frogspawn in there and they looked great. Checked temperature with another thermometer and both thermometers are reading 80 right at this particular moment. Going to do a water change today of maybe 2 or 2.5 g
  22. Does anyone know if one of these would fit into and work in the biocube 14?? Found this on nanotuners.com
  23. My frogspawn is starting to look bad. A lot of the tentacles have gone brown, skinny and less flexible and are no longer fat and healthy looking. (not showing god color) I don't know why. Everything else in the tank seems alright. What do I do? What could be wrong? Should I change where he is located? Have not had him very long. (Just jammed in a hole in the rock at the moment because I have not bought reef cement yet) I feed the coralife gumbo to the corals weekly so I don't think it is starving or anything. Been doing weekly water changes of 5 gallons (thinking of modifying that to make it every couple of days only a gallon or 2 each time). Feeding NLS sparingly to the clowns in the tank to avoid pollution and also have been adding baby or newly hatched brine shrimp every couple of days to the tank (I know the nutritive value is not great for BR, I do feed them with the gumbo in their pop bottle hatchery though, lol-figured it couldn't hurt though and the clowns love them-after their nls of course) Please help  -------------------------------------------------------- I realize the tank runs warm, I don't even have a heater on it, so really not much I can do about it. No I did not think about squirting anything into the frogspawn, I thought it would be absorbed in the water column. And js are you talking frozen mysis? Should I be upping the salinity? Any thoughts?
