  1. I use play sand in all of my tanks. To wash it I fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of sand, stick to hose in it until the water runs out clear. Put sand in tank and repeat the process. I put the bucket around my trees outside so that I don't waste the water.
  2. It is amazing what you can get your friends to do with free beer.
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I have priced out 2 smoked glass doors at $40 each, plus hardware will be approx. $15.
  4. Hello, I just completed a stand for my new 90G tank I got from Overstocked. I made the stand out of 3/4inch G1S plywood (1 sheet) and fir trim, I have not painted it yet as I can not decide on a colour. Before I set the tank up I had a couple of buddies come over to sit on it  (total wt about 600lbs) and there was no wobble or movement of any kind. I used lots of glue and screws, trim nails for the fir. Presently I am designing a canopy top for it, and I plan to get dark glass doors for it. Total cost of materials for the stand (without the doors) was less than $125.00. What amazed me was how strong but light this stand is.
  5. Lee Valley tools carries West coast epoxy products. I have seen this product recommend on other sites. http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.asp?SID...ory=1,110,42965
