yea red rams are bolovian rams. not as nice colors but more hardy imo

if I put food on the top of the glass top my midas wackes her head on te glass trying to get it.

I dont know the perams. but there is the same smell in my small tank and its perams are fine

there is a bit of foam floating arround in my tank and a reall rancid smell. I do weekly water changes and gravel vacs (often it is twice a week vacumes) all my fish seem fine it just stinks and there is that weird foam. the only thing I have done latly is put in a piece of wood.

same way my oscar died. fins on mine didnt look tattered though. maybe he rammed his head into something. was he next to any precarious objects when you found him?

sorry bout that, val just hit her head on the top of a doorframe, so she is a bit confused we need more neotropicals, that I know of there are only 4 serious keepers in alberta on this forum

welcome, go with new world cichlids, you wont be dissapointed, large, smart friendly are they. my midas is 5 inches and she will already stick her face out of the water to get food from my fingers.

would a Channa Pleurophthalma get allong with central american cichlids? how are they to keep? also how long can they stay out of water?

ok I heard something about something called the cichlid tripple crowns. it was something about a breeding pair of dovii, umbee and festae. the 3 "monsters" as this guy called them thats what we need. we should have a "tripple crown" thing. I have festaes, tim you have a male dovii and canucklehead, you have a male umbee. I think it would be able to breed all these fish.

what is the minimum tank size for a pair of grammodes. would a 75 gallon do?

would a tank 6 and a half feet long and 3 feet wide and 2.5 feet tall work for a pair of dovii as well as some dithers? male dovii get only like 24 inches right? how long does that take? the dithers would be a couple convicts and other dither fish like t barbs

ah but what I was talking about is totaly different. you have the ugj as the return feed from your sump corect? well all that does is blow around the crap. you need some other sort of filteration down there to suck it up. the solution is reverse under gravel jets. you interconnect all of these and in stead of having it as a return for your sump you siphon the water to your sump. using this as your siphon system. in that it calls for a pipe to go down just like an aqua clear filter. well I took that one step further. you bring it down to the bottom and connect it with a series of tubes. that surface in different areas. these becuase they are sucking are reverse ugj's
