  1. usually when my female is gttng ready she turned yellow.
  2. just from my experience of the fry i've raised once they get to the size yours is jayba...the red part gets brighter but it will not spread through out the finnage of the fish.
  3. i thnk they have some hint of triple red as all fins have some red on it. itwill not colour up anymore but offsprings will if you have nice females. bred triple reds that had offsprings just like yours.
  4. just be careful with the blue rams...they bugged my scarlet badis when i had them. had to take out the rams. but mybe it was that pair that i had...just keep an eye on them.
  5. I don't see any problem with adding some tetras. I think it will give more top/middle movement. Well...maybe one pleco too much...the L134 can go...lol. Just kidding.
  6. SUCCESS! Finally taking in pellets and flakes. Getting closer to letting them go. My li'l babies all grown up...LOL.
  7. I say sell your current tank and buy a used one. Kijiji got a few nice used ones.
  8. thanks save me some bnp...lol.
  9. getting bigger...couple of them are big enough to sell (not yet 3 inches). If you are interested in some home grown abjd...let me know and i will put you on a list. some people and fish stores have shown interest. Jonah
  10. Blues coming out. They look just like dad. Gold sheen covered by blue. It is hard to get the real colour...these are with flash.
  11. try florida flagfish. worked for me.
  12. We left for 4 days and they survived! My "fishsitter" basically dropped a cube of brineshrimp per day. They look MUCH bigger now. Blue is coming out much more. No fatalities...all 11 still going strong.
  13. Call Wayne at Riverfront...he has two of them in the store as pets.
  14. Quick update: 11 is eating well. I am currently feeding a mix of frozen brine shrimp with vits and omega and NLS. They are FAT! Some looks wider as they are long...basically a square...haha.Some are over 1" (eyeball measurement) and the blue are coming out more. They have to "hunt" their food now as the tank is pretty big compared to their old one. Its funny how they school at this size...basically playing follow the leader. No obvious deformities. I will keep them until they hit around 3 inches at least and no deformities. Jonah
  15. okay they are about 75 percent weaned off teh bbs. Now taking frozen brine shrimp soaked in vitamins and a bit of NLS. Transferred to a 45 gallon tank by themselves with one cory cat. Did a bigger water change than normal in the blue jd tank and BAM...all are in breeding mode! I have a sibling that paired up...LOL. Jonah
  16. thanks! let me know if you guys get any dwarf type or female ram...thanks again!
  17. i understand what you meant. Finally a breakthrough with feeding. They are taking adult frozen brine shrimp (fortified with vitamins, etc.)I am still pushing NLS just not sure how much they are taking it. this way i can stop my bbs "factory" for now. Now i understand why they are so pricey! Two years to get any blues! anyways, all 11 are going strong. keeping my fingers crossed!
  18. Not trying to breed them...lol. my abjd keeps me busy enough. just wanted another female to distract the male a bit.
  19. yup...i've had them for i think a couple of months now. Doing pretty good. Feisty li'l thing. Anybody got extra females to give this poor gal a break...lol.
  20. Gorgeous rams! Male (I think) Female (I think)
  21. Excuse the photos. Here are the abjd at approximately 3/4 of an inch some about 1 inch. It is hard to photograph the blue coming out.
  22. I should probably update my breeding program. Basically down to one blue jack dempsey. I will try pleco one of these days...lol.
