  1. Here is another shot. I wish I had a better camera setup, and an assistant. Today I thought the Octopus was settled enough to try hand feeding, and what a photo op I missed. He sent out two tentacles, wrapped them around my fingers that were holding the mussel, got his beak to the mussel, wrapped the rest of his tentacles around my hand while he took the mussel, and then let go to go to the back of the tank. So cool.
  2. I'd be afraid of 8 legs wrapped around 8 little wine glasses :>
  3. Yeah, if it a female, she will lay eggs, then die... and if its a male it will basically go senile and die. It's just the way it goes. It's mantle length is a couple inches, and it has 8ish inch tentacles. It is hard to explain, I guess I just feel privileged to have it as a guest for its last few weeks. The thing is amazing, touches you to see what you feel like, pulls rubble in front of it's den when it doesn't want you looking at it. plays with empty snail shells, very very clever. I'll be on the lookout for a younger one next time, thats for sure.
  4. Here he is, all curious about the camera. I'll only have it for a few weeks, it is pretty much an adult.
  5. It isn't a matter of having written a composition, it is however the pot calling the kettle black. Sloppy structure is sloppy structure, period. By the way, a shame the firefish found a way out. It is simply amazing that they can aim for the smallest of holes.
  6. Capitalisation and spelling are also crucial to proper sentence structure.
  7. Thanks, there are two in that tank, one is 16" or so, the other is 18" or so.
  8. head pressure will definately effect a filter. this will help illustrate what different hose lengths/ diameters and height will do to head pressure. http://www.efunda.com/formulae/fluids/calc_pipe_friction.cfm
  9. yeah... thinking maybe getting a couple bottles of that anti-growth hormone thats been in the news so much :>
  10. Yeah, bought a panther grouper. Funny thing is he is so little, but even the picasso twice his size is already afraid of him...
  11. it wasn't even two weeks ago... the false eyespots were a dead giveaway. All moot now, since the thing thought hugging the powerhead was a good idea...
  12. Don't tell on me, but I got a bimac at Oceans
  13. mine found the powerhead in a matter of hours. I thought he would be alright since he backed out on his own, but it was not the case. Good luck man, I may pick your brain later for your experience.
  14. I have, it is a little bright, but it works.
  15. wow, both of you are tremendous in suggesting what I already said.
  16. 'nuff said. Not everything is an ad for your associates product. If it is Keegan you are wanting to assist, than a simple pm would suffice. Of course I am sure you are wise enough to know this is the case. Unfortunately, I am now derailing this thread further.
  17. Not to dredge up an old thread, but just a FYI .... the RD Petland has been feeding their male Motoro (approx 6" in diameter) the NLS Large Fish formula for approx 2 months now, and he seems very healthy, and no excess waste in the tank, or anything nasty coming out of his keester. I watched Kim feed him today (approx 300 gallon tank), and he scarfed down the pellets straight away. This is so far off topic it may as well be in popular mechanics.
  18. cool cool. thats what I get for not actually checking first :>
  19. Emerald crab picking at some yellow sponge.
  20. When I was a plumber, I had many many oportunities to install basement bathrooms. In order to do that, the floor had to be broken out to accomodate drains for the toilet, showers, sinks, etc. The surpriseing thing is, in some places the concrete was less than an inch thick, covering massive hollows where the subgrade had either settled, or washed away outright. Casters are a less than good idea.
  21. Ty, ty. Thinking the Picasso is more likely a rectangle trigger, it has very very muted coloration for picasso's I've seen that are is size...
  22. I would have possibly chosen my trigger, but you beat me to it :P
