  1. A couple of new pics of my 75 Gallon
  2. We are a couple of guys trying to solve this on a Swedish forum. Seems like most of them thinks it's a Labidochromis sp. "hongi" or Labidochromis sp. "mbamba".
  3. Does anyone know what this is? (both pics are the same fish)
  4. Oh I see, I only have 2 of those and they don't really fit in anyway, so I don't mind removing them. They look a little bit too much SW.
  5. Do you mean the type of shell at the front right corner?
  6. Thanks, I beleive the sand comes from the Husky gas station lol. I am planning on putting a group of Lamprologus stappersii in it.
  7. I have added a few vallisneria since I took these shots
  8. The most common in regular stores is spring water. I have used Culligan and the PH is 7.2-7.4, GH about 8 and KH 5-6. It can be a good alternavite for small tanks. As jvision said, RO is very unstable and you would have to keep a close eye on the PH. Destilled water has very low PH and virtually no minerals at all. RO or destilled water is good for compensating for condensed water.
  9. My old grandpa used to be a lumber logger (is that what you call it?) in northern Sweden in the mid 1900. Once when I was a kid he demonstrated what they used spruce beetles for. He had a sliver in his finger so he grabbed one of those beetles and put it where the sliver was. The beetle was upset ofcourse and hooked on to whatever was closest. He got a hold of the sliver and granpa pulled the bettle off with the sliver still attached. I wouldn't try it myself though, I'd rather keep the sliver lol.
  10. The tanks are in the basement
  11. Wow, that is horrible Hot days like this I'm glad the tanks are in the basement...
  12. Got these after setting up her new "Betta Rack" IMO this female is better looking than most males... Here's the new setup

    New Here

    Welcome to the forum!
  14. Here are some pictures: Here is the material I used You could use it as is if the tank has a glass cover. Note the convenient on/off switch. Suitable for damp locations, that can't be a bad thing Wood box being glued Done! Here is how it looks on the tank. I made a hole for the on/off switch. The wood piece in the center is to keep the glass lid open. It would have looked better if I had stained it but I was too lazy... Total cost: approx. $40
  15. do u have a picture of this home depot light? Yes I have one that I will post when I get home. I purchased the better one which I believe was about $30. I am using it right now on my 75 Gallon. The strip is meant to hang from the ceiling and is approved for humid locations. I built a plywood box and put it in. I prob paid $10 for the wood. You could put it as is on top of the tank if it's covered.
  16. Fish will do fine without food for a long time. Your fish will be okay
  17. If you want to go cheap you can get a double 48" T8 light strip with reflector for $19 at Home Depot. If you spend another $10 you get a better reflector and better overall quality.
  18. Me too it seems lol. I thought it was too yellow to be a pulcher, but when I looked it up I noticed how many versions there are of pulcher....
  19. Check with Nature's Corner Store. I beleive they sell tanks made by Concept Aquarium Systems - http://www.conceptaquarium.com/ You probably need to have it custommade to get those measurements.
  20. The link did not work. Here is the correct one: http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/manage...FK_version.html Edit: Ops you must have changed it at the same time as I posted lol
  21. Nice! How many did you get?
  22. Alright, here's a seagull and a dragonfly
