  1. After a little research on the subject the Armatus are on there way!! -roll-
  2. I was thinking of getting some Armatus from Infinite Aquatics in the U.S. . There is no live arrival guarantee and because they are so small you are taking a chance they are not Armatus. I also talked to a reputable lfs in Calgary and he said the chances of a 2.5" to 3" Armatus making the trip was slim. What do you guys think? By the time I am done it will be over $500 and it might not even be Armatus and they might all arrive dead. Sound like a no win situation to me!!!!
  3. If anyone here has ordered from infinite aquatics can you send me a pm and let me know how it worked out for you and what was all involved in the process. If its not to hard would anybody be interested in a group order to the Calgary,Airport? http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/s...ghlight=armatus
  4. I want to order a fish from the U.S. and the business said they could ship it with a certificate for $175 if I need one or they can ship without certificates. They said it was my decision! I am assuming they are talking about fish and wild life as that was one of the questions I asked them. So what do they mean in their reply? Can I have it shipped without a certificate? Why did they say they could ship without certificates? Does that mean it has a chance of being confiscated if it doesn't have the certificate?
  5. Tight budget and if you don't have a overstocked tank, go with 2 Aquaclear 110 and a powerhead of some sort. I have these on all my tanks and they run forever and you can put all kinds of media in them.
  6. Thanks guys! It's definitely getting time consuming. It started 19yrs ago with a 25 gallon and now I can't seem to stop. I dropped a lot of coin into my hobby this past year after my 450 gallon was built. Now I just have to work a little more overtime.
  7. Divided in a 150 gallon for now! I know they don't like each other because the Fahaka already bit the tail of the Mbu when he stuck it through the plastic egg crate when they where temporarily divided 3 ways in the 90 gallon with the Black Rhom. This happened after only having them for a few days. But now they have a little more room in the 150. Waiting till they grow out a bit more until they go to different tanks.
  8. Here is a couple of shots from my last order. I am ordering some more bichirs only to arrive Monday afternoon. This one is a Polypterus lapradei "Nigeria". They are hard to get pics of as they are still settling in.
  9. Just got one from Canadian aquatics!
  10. I have now placed 3 orders with Spence and all my fish are doing awesome!! I am now a happy owner of 8 Lenticulata Pike,5 Strigata Pike (2 pairs formed already),3 Heckelii,L200 green phantom pleco,2 breeding WC Green terrors. Pics to come soon!! This ordering online is way too easy!! I think I might have to declare bankruptcy if he doesn't stop getting in cool fish. I think the Emperor Cichlids are next on my list!
  11. Get some Aquarisol from Big Al's and dose according to directions for at least 3 days or until spots are gone. Safe for scaleless fish and I have used it on my Jurunese with no problems.
  12. Two years ago my town used too much chlorine and had high ammonia in the water, due to spring complications. I found this out when I did a water change in my tanks and lost about $1000 worth of fish. I contacted the town about what happened and go figure 2 days later a boil water advisory was put in place!! So now I always use Prime! Here was the damage...
  13. Usually happens when one parent was albino and another was a common or such. It's hard now a days to find pure albino that keep there colors due to all the mismatch and inbreeding.
  14. I have some Heckelii also and was wondering if you can tell what are males and females? I am having a hard time trying to figure it out and I have 5 of them.
  15. Find out how old it is first! You can buy a New 90 gallon with glass lids and a strip light for under $400. Plus filter heater and decorations would be a $150 touch or less. So what I am saying is you can get a brand new tank which is only 20 gallons less for the same price plus you get warranty on the tank and equipment you purchase. Since the 110 gallon doesn't have a stand it wouldn't seem worth it imo!

    FX5 Need parts!

I tried five different stores in Calgary and no one carries them. Guess what? One of the workers at Gold aquariums made a mistake!! They do carry them, so if anyone else breaks a lid fastener just go to Gold aquariums.

    FX5 Need parts!

37 views and no one knows? Someone must have broke one of these before. I thought this would be the easiest way to find out, I guess I was wrong! Thanks anyway!
  18. Does anybody know where I can get the lid fasteners in Calgary for the FX5? I have already phoned Gold aquariums and Pisces and they don't have them. The said they would have to order them in and it would be about a week. I would like them sooner if possible as I broke one.
  19. I used plexi-glass lids on my 120 gallon sump and it helps with the evaporation. Helps with the noise of the water flow in the sump too!
