  1. Wow. The size of your yellow labs are amazing after only 2 weeks. How long do you continue to use Cyclopeze? Why does frequency of water changes increase growth?? I change about 15% per week.
  2. I was wondering what everyone is feeding their mbuna fry. I used to use brine shrimp artema and spirulina for herbavore fry. Now I am using new life spectrum growth, spirulina and occasionally artema (frozen). I spoke to Albert about Cyclopeze (sp). So...any advice? BTW do you know where I can order a can of shrimp napuli rather than the small viles available at LFS?
  3. I have automatic feeders for my tanks however you should not trust them. They can very easily jam up while on vacation. Your best bet is to get a buddy to come in every 2-3 days.
  4. Hi everyone. I had fish tanks as a teenager, but after we had our first of three children and he kept shaking the stand of our tank we sold everything. Well, I'm 46 now and my kids are a lot older, so I have been at it again for about a year. I currently have two 90 gallons and a 33 gallon. In one tank I have mbuna's- mostly pseudotr. demansoni's. They are breeding well. My 33 is a "fry" tank for them. In my other 90 I have it heavily planted and am trying to find a balance of C02, light, and nutrients...still a bit too much algae for my liking. I have mostly barbs and tetras in this one. I am looking for some good algae eaters. I am finding this forum really helpful. ...Bought some great food from RD. The best service I have ever received. My next step I guess is to join the CAS.
  5. The tanks look great! Are you using C02 injection?
  6. Hi .. you should have given me a call. This is a preferred type of sponge filter. I have three of them. You connect a flexible airline tubing to the tube on the side of the filter. This creates a suction such that the water passes through the sponge and bubbles up through the top. A simple process. The sponge that I gave you has a large area and will attract beneficial bacteria for your tank. The swivel on it is great as you can strategically place it in the corner of the aquarium. I have never found a sponge filter that is better than this. The only possible problem that could arise is if you have a weak pump with a diaphram that needs replacing. Hope this helps!
