  1. Lana, glad you like him. He looks like he's making himself right at home in your tank.
  2. I think Nature's corner sells them. Jungle Jim's Bag Buddies. If they don't have it, I'm also organizing a group order from Spencer Jack and he sells them as well.
  3. I know, I love those guys, I have some of fairdeal's stock as well. They definitely have character.
  4. I don't think you have to worry about the place to put fish. There are usually fish tanks for sale at the auction as well.
  5. I run an xp4 on my 90 gallon, eheim on my 50 gallon, eheim eco on my 40 gallon and fx5 on my 180 gallon. All of them do a really good job, although I tend to like my eheims better because it is easier to prime the canister.
  6. Some of those fish would probably work in a 10 gallon. If you can,get a pistol shrimp to go along with one of the prawn gobies. It makes for a very interesting tank. This is a link that I used initially to help me decide what I wanted to stock my biocube. Nano Reef Fish Guide
  7. It primarily depends on what you want to keep. With a nano tank though you can get by with t5 or power compact. They should give off enough light for soft corals and some sps corals.
  8. There is only 1 Cyphotilapia frontosa and that is the Kigoma (7 stripe). I'm not even sure if they have given a species name to the burundis yet, but the gibberosa are primarily zaire. The main difference is the stripe on the face. Burundis is more of a stripe whereas the zaire types is more mask like. I'll try to take some pictures of mine when I get home. I have 1 burundi and a bunch of mpimbwes and Kitumbas or whatever the ones I got from Popeye were
  9. I've also read about using a razor blade to scrape them off. I had my albino corys spawn shortly after I bought them but didn't get a chance to get them off. They had them on my filter intake, heater and sides of the tank.
  10. you might have to do some trimming to get the eggs.
  11. I would say burundi on the frontosa. Its not a one of the tanzania varieties as they don't have a mask. I only counted 5 stripes but the glare covered up the tail so I assumed there was one more stripe there so it won't be Kigoma (7 stripe).

    hi

Welcome to AA. What fish do you keep?
  13. You probably don't even need the bioballs, maybe use the space to set up a refugium with macroalgae. The live rock should be more than enough biological filtration.
  14. blue legged hermits, scarlet hermits, nassarius snails, turbo snails(although some get big and might knock some of the corals around). Once your tank is cycled then you can think about the shrimp (skunk cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp).
  15. Welcome to the world of saltwater Scott. Some questions, what size tank is it? and what kind of lighting do you plan to use for the tank? I would wait at least 4 weeks before adding the cuc (clean up crew) You don't want to rush it as it could result in losses.
  16. It might be this: Aulonocara stuartgranti (Ngara)
  17. Not to mention most cardinalfish don't do well in groups unless your tank is big enough (100 gallons +).
  18. I know what you mean. I started off with a 90 gallon that I bought from a friend with 4 blood parrots. Then I bought a 72 gallon seamless, then more and more. I had 16 tanks all going at one time from 5 gallons to the 90 gallon. I have since downsized and and down to 10 tanks with one of them a grow-out/quarantine tank. I am getting an 180 gallon on Monday but then I will be taking down a couple more tanks so back down to 10.
  19. I think pics 7 and 8 are Enantiopus sp. Kilesa and pic 9 are paracyprichromis nigripinnis. A "cyp" is short for Cyprichromis a cichlid from Lake Tanganyika.
  20. I'm pretty sure they were all males also.
  21. I believe that is ruby red peacock.
  22. It depends on who you talk to. I personally use New Life Spectrum (NLS). It is pricer than other brands but you use less of it so it more or less evens out, plus my fish really love it. I'm sure there are a bunch more people who use it on this forum.
  23. I might have an extra 36X12 glass top kicking around, otherwise I think Aquagiant is probably the cheapest.
