  1. There are a few out there - at least one in Calgary (I have seen his fry at auction). Lots of people try to breed discus, few are succesful or last. I eventually would like to breed - as a natural extension of the hobby, but not to make money. To give you an idea of the experience and time it takes, one of my mentors "Spidey Steve" on the forum took 3 years straight to raise, pair, breed and have a viable school of juvies. Are you an experienced breeder? What are you hoping to achieve? Where did you get the nice cobalts that were for sale? Kevin Not an experienced breeder what so ever, lol but wish to gain the experience. I just want the satisfaction of the knowledge to breed them, and quite possibly want to share the discus with other ppl. the other discus that i had recieved, i got at such a sweet deal i couldnt pass it up. But had to let some go to make room for more fish. My Sankeskins are laying eggs right now but it is also the first time they have laid them. so hopefully soon i will have some to share.

  18. I just picked up 11 6 month old Cobalt Blues, A Breeding Pair Of Snakeskins and a Super Melon, and a male Cobalt Blue. 4 aus rainbows, and a breeding pair of bristle nose with a baby. Now why do they just sit in the top corner of my tank, i split them up to have the breeding pair together, with the large melon and cobalt with 3 babies and the rest of them are in my 230 tank until i can sell them off. What shall i do. ? they just chill there not doing much. up by the heater but the whole tank is approx. 80F and same with the other tank. Anyone have any suggestions.
  19. So i purchased some black sand for my 230, 100 lbs worth, so i have washed the stuff for over 2 hours now, water was clean so on so forth. put it in the tank and whammo cloudier than that rainstorm that flooded the mud a few years back, and now it will not go away. as for the extra stuff that is on the top that is easy its going into my overflows and i can get it out later. cloudyness will not go away and i need it to go bye bye. please help the fish NOOB. and as always, criticism towards me being dumb is welcome lol j/k thank you in advance.
  20. looks to be a reaction from the minerals in the rock and the water in the tank, i had this in my old tank, but it was red. i could be wrong though. just my worthless 2 cents lol
