  1. I am currently breeding Pterophyllum scalare. Fry and juveniles. Zebra angels Golden marbles(Koi) Black ghost angels Sunset angels Blushing clown angels
  2. I still have some. Here are some pics.
  3. Anyone know where I could take some of my baby angels and what they would be worth?? Would I just try to shop them around the fish stores? Big al's said they would take them but they might be worthless to $1 fish in store credit.
  4. I have my breeding pair of angels and they ate their young the first three batches. They were in a community tank with a divider. I believe it was the stress of seeing the other fish on the other side as they were clearly agitated. I then took away the next three clutches of fry at the wiggler stage. They have grown to nickel size. The angels now have the 38 gallons to themselves and the parents now will raise their own without eating them. I keep the light on all the time as i lost a few in the rocks the first night they were swimming. I feed them live brine and they grow very fast. Feeding mysis and frozen brine seems to keep the parents from eating the fry. Although sometimes I think the male will eat them to get her to lay more eggs. I consider myself lucky to have two good parents!!!
  5. I recently converted my 38 gal community tank into an angels only breeding tank to see them raise their own fry. Transferred all other fish to a 55 gal tank. The 38 has been around for a few years and now has a bazillion small snails and at night the rocks move there are so many larger ones. Did not notice that many before as i had a pea puffer that ate some and must have scared the rest into hiding. I do not want to use nasty chemicals to kill them off. I cannot put my puffer back as he will eat the fry. Have heard that yoyo loach or clown loach will fix my problem but assuming eat my fry as well. Any ideas would be much appreciated???
  6. Hello to all, After 10yrs with no fish, I bought a betta for my 5yr old daughter. I was hooked again, my passion was unleashed. With my 2 daughters amazment of fish I was driven to get back into it. I started with a ten gallon in the kids room with a few tetras, then set up a 38 gallon freshwater community tank in the living room. Previously, the wife and I had a 20 gallon tank with Angel fish. Unitentionally this became the breeding tank for many a brood. Due to a move we had to shut down our operation. Upon relocation we started up a 45 gallon African Cichlid tank and a 80 gallone South American Cichid tank. After a few bad fish choices that massacred our tanks and left us with a few nasty lone fish we moved again. At that point we decided to take a break and try our luck with the human variety! So here we are, the 38 gallon had an angel who laid eggs in a community tank and I found her a mate. Now we have a 55 gallon community tank in the living room and the 38 gallon is home to the Angels. The 10 gal is home for the offspring of the breeding pair. Needless to say my children are in awe to watch the growth and development of these beautiful fish. I will post some photos of the breeding pair and offspring, as I will need some help with true identification. I believe the female is a marble blushing and the male is a white pearlescent marble or koi (he is white with marble stripes and yellowish forehead). Offspring seem to be a nice mix of both parents. Since I have been out of the fish loop for a while does anyone know were one could take the surplus of offspring. I really enjoy being back in the fish groove and love the educational tool for my children. I am looking forward to getting into it even more and would love to venture into the saltwater realm to continue my journey!! I am excited to have joined such an informative and knowledgeable site, with so many resources and fish minded people to correspond with. I look forward to the future!
